Collecting Dropped Cowhides

Background

Cowhides are good for F2P players who wish to tan them and turn them into leather for crafting experience. They are also used to generate Unicows my members for a different money-making method.

Cowhides can only be obtained by killing cows. Once the cows die, they drop these cowhides. However, that's not the fastest way to collect cowhides. Normally, if you were killing cows, it would take several minutes to gather an inventory full of cowhides. This method will show you how to gather an inventory full of valuable cowhides AND bank them in just 1 minute and 30 seconds!

The only requirement is that you have an explorer's ring (3).


Method

Have a clear inventory and wear only an explorer's ring. Use the explorer's ring to teleport you to the cabbage patch. You will appear here:

From here, you want to head to the cow area shown in the map below:


There's a stile that you will need to jump over. Just right click on it, and press "climb over Stile".

You will find yourself in a cow farm. Look for a world where there's a lot of people killing the cows, but not many people picking up the cowhides. Most people training here are bots, so they won't be picking up the cowhides anyways.

But look for a world where a lot of higher level people are quickly killing off the cows. The faster the other people kill the cows, the faster you get the cowhides. Here's an example of a good world:

As you can see, all the cows are being killed, and there's lots of cowhides scattered around the floor. You want to pick up all the cowhides that are on the floor.


Do this until you have a full inventory of cowhides.


Once you have a full inventory of cowhides, use your explorer's ring to teleport back to the cabbage patch. This time, you will head south to a bank deposit bank. The map below will show you the route.

In the area circled by the map, you will find a bank deposit box. You can click on this deposit box (which is actually a cylinder) to store your cowhides.

An interface like the one below will open up. Right-click on one of the cowhides and bank them all into this bank deposit box.

Then use your explorer's ring to teleport back to the cabbage patch and start collecting cowhides again. This makes pretty good money. Let's check out the hourly profits of this method:


Profits

You can collect an inventory full of cowhides (28 cowhides) and bank them in 1 minute and 30 seconds. That means every hour, you can collect 40 inventories of cowhides. If each inventory contains 28 cowhides, then you can collect (28 x 40) 1120 cowhides per hour with this method.

So if you can collect 1120 cowhides per hour, let's see how much GP that is per hour with the current Grand Exchange price for cowhides:


Those profits are pretty good for F2P players. Well, you better get your farmer's hat on and start collecting those cowhides!
