This is a rather novel guide posted on our forums in the first GOTM, it was something I'd never seen before so I thought you guys may find it interesting.

Hello everybody! This is my first guide attempt ever, and it will be about a lesser known pker, the Tally Ranger.
You: But Silent, what is this "tally ranger"?
A talisman ranger is a pker that uses the Runecrafting staff much like a Range 2h uses his 2h, because it has a +33 strength bonus with NO requirements. This allows for an even lower combat level because it does not require 40 attack, which causes 13 combat levels.
You: O.K., but whats a Runecrafting staff?
The Runecrafting staff is a staff, (duh) that is a reward from the Runecrafting Guild Minigame. It costs 10,000 tokens and can be used with a any talisman to become what we will be using. Depending what talisman used, it can be used the same as a tiara as long as it corresponds with the type of altar.
Well, lets get on with the guide![Part Two] Runecraft
This might as well be the hardest and tedious part of the process. The guild requires you to have 50 Runecrafting to enter.
I have found the easiest way is to just go 1-50 on air runes. Easier said than done. After Runecrafting level 44, you will make a profit of 15 gp per essence you craft. So, 15 x 28 = 420gp per run, which is not the best, but it will make you break even with the essence you purchased, if not a profit. This step should take around 6 hours if you pay attention and don't get distracted.
[Part Three] The Great Orb Project
Buying the staff
NOTE: Do NOT use the law talisman because it has NO attack bonuses because then it wouldn't be allowed on Entrana.[Part Four] Combat!
Melee
Here is a map of the locations of everything:

[Part Five] PKing
I know that's a lot, but you wont have to buy anything for awhile. So withdraw one of every armor piece, one strength potion, your talisman staff, and the rest swordfish. Also remember your arrows. Take about 100 with you each trip.
O.K. now, here is a video demonstrating what this bad boy can do.
This is not my video.
Hope you liked it.
Tally Ranger Guide!
[Part One] Starting off
Once you finish the Tutorial, head right to Bob's Axes and take a free sample of a Mining Pick. Then if your up to it, go complete the SoS and the SoPS. That will bank you 20k, cool gloves and boots, along with 1k xp in any skill. I recommend using the lamps on either Runecrafting, or Range.Mining
This section is where you will rake the money in! So head to Varrock West mine and mine clay until level 20. Be sure to bank it all, because it is around 100gp each. After 20, go just across the way to the Varrock East mine. There are 4 iron spawns there, but it can be very competitive. World hop until you find a world where you can get some iron without too much of a hassle. Just as before, bank all the ores, iron has been rising lately so its a great source of cash. You can make around 8.4k in one load. Continue this until you have around 200k.Range
Guess where were going? Chickens! But as before, go to the G.E. and buy 2k iron arrows and a short bow. Now. you can choose to get 30 or 40 range. I suggest 40, but if your lazy, you can do 30. It's still effective. Since your not training it past 40, it would be a waste of time and money to buy higher level arrows, bows and Armour. So go to the Chickens bringing trout, your bow and arrows. This should take no less than 30-60 minutes.Helpful things
ALWAYS GO ON A BOUNTY WORLD +1, AND NEVER HAVE ANY ONE ITEM WITH YOU MORE THAN 1,500 GP OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR STAFF!!!
