Runescape Dungeoneering Puzzle Guide

Are you having trouble solving those puzzles in the dungeoneering skill? This guide will help you to solve those puzzles and get you venturing on your way to the next floor!

Ferret on the Water Platform:

The goal of this puzzle is to lure the ferret to the pressure plate, usually located on one of the corners of the water platform. You must do this while making the ferret avoid the water holes.

Start by getting a fishing lure and some feathers. Fish about 5-10 fishes from the fishing spot near the ferret - the fish should be called Vile Fish. Cook the fish and toss the fish on the platform on the water which the ferret is on. Tossing a fish onto a location on the platform will make the ferret go to that location. The ferret can also go diagonally. Just make sure the ferret doesn't fall into a hole while its moving to the tossed fish's location. If it falls in a hole, you have to start all over!

Guide the ferret to the pressure plate through this technique, and all the doors in the room will open up.

Sliding Statues

The objective of this dungeoneering puzzle is to move the two movable set of statues to match the two still set of statues.

Simply slide the movable statues so they are an exact replica of the still statues. Do not try to make mirror reflections of the two sets. Make the two sets the same, such as the picture shown above.

White and Black Floor Tile Room

The objective of this puzzle is to turn all the tiles into the lighter color. You must flip the tiles to make ALL of them lighter.

When you flip (imbue) a tile, the tiles near it will change color. The best thing to do is to flip randomly near the middle, so you can effect as many tiles as you can. Continue flipping tiles until you think you have a good majority of lighter tiles.

Then comes the part where you have to get hurt. Yes, hurt by tiles. For the remaining darker tiles, you can force flip (right click and select "force") them to turn them lighter. Doing so will inflict some damage, but its a price you have to pay to complete the puzzle.

Ice Floor Room

There are four pressure plates squares in this room that you have to step on. The key is to know that you can travel diagonally!

At first it might seem impossible to flip across the side in a forward and side-to-side direction. However, all you have to do is click on a square that is immediately diagonal to you, and you will start sliding diagonally. This will allow you to reach all the pressure plate squares.

Protecting the Charging Monolith

The objective of this puzzle is to allow the monolith in the middle of the room to charge to its full potential while fighting off the Mysterious Shades that take away its charges.

Begin by activating the monolith. Soon after you activate it, shades will appear and begin to attack the monolith. Your job? Attack the shades and distract them from disturbing the monolith's charging process. You can either kill the shades, or simply hit them once to distract them from disrupting the monolith's charging process.

As soon as the monolith reaches its full charge, the doors will be unlocked, and the shades will be history.

Flipping Switches

The objective of this puzzle is to flip the switches that are scattered across the room's walls as fast as possible. If the player doesn't act quick enough, they will be dealt with heavy damage, and will have to start over.

Simply start off at once side of the room. Flip a switch, and run around the room flipping all the other switches. Flip every switch just once, and flip them fast! Once you have flipped every switch in the room, the doors will unlock.

Ball of Light

The objective of this dungeoneering puzzle is to get all 4 intersecting lines to be synchronized in their feed towards the ball of light.

You will see 4 intersecting tiled lines with a giant ball in the middle. Somewhere in the room, there should be 4 pointed rocks. Start off by light all of these rocks so the lines light up. Notice how all the lights are advancing tile by tile into the ball of light, but they aren't synchronized.

You can make them synchronized by stepping on the pressure pads that stop the light once your character steps on it. Synchronize all 4 lights by stepping on the pressure pads simultaneously.

Magical Construct Room

10 Statue Weapon Room

The objective of this dungeoneering puzzle is to arm the 5 unarmed statues with stone weapons would win against the opposite statues weapon (based on the combat triangle).

The room has 10 statues. There are two sets - 5 are armed with stone weapons, the other 5 are unarmed. The room will have some crumbling wall section to it. Mine from the crumbling wall (warning: you may get damaged from falling rocks) to get stone blocks, and then using a hammer and chisel (warning: once again you can lose health here too) to craft the stone blocks into bows, staves and swords.

Use the combat triangle to arm the 5 unarmed statues so they would win against the statue in front of them. For example, if the armed statue has a sword (melee), arm him with a stave (magic). Arm all 5 unarmed statues and the doors will unlock.

With melee being overly powered these days, many have forgotten the combat triangle. For reference, here is the combat triangle: Melee beats Range. Range beats Mage. Mage beats Melee.

Collapsing Rocks Room
