Runescape Dungeoneering Bosses Guide

Main Author: Jake Hesson (D D Surivior)

Are you having trouble with the bosses of the Runescape Dungeoneering skill? Look no further! This Dungeoneering Bosses Guide will teach you how the secrets of each dungeoneering boss and give you the best tips to take down these behemoth bosses.

Floor 1 Bosses

Gluttonous Behemoth

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for its regenerative abilities. It has two carcasses (or one if you are soloing) next to it. Once its health drops to half, it will eat these carcasses to heal itself.

If soloing this monster only has one carcass it feeds itself from. Simply stand between the boss and the carcass to prevent it from healing. Turn on protect from melee and attack it. If in a team, this boss monster has TWO carcasses to feed itself with. Get yourself and a friend between the two carcasses and the behemoth. Make sure both of you are protecting from melee.

It has a high defense relative to the other bosses in the earlier floors. Its melee attack is stronger than its magic attack, so its suggested to use a protect from melee spell.

Astea Frostweb

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for her protection prayers which change quite frequently. She attacks with magic, and has the ability to freeze the victim. She also summons ice spiders to melee attack.

If you are soloing, use two different attacks. It is suggested that you avoid using melee as her ability to freeze players is comparable to the freeze length of an Ice Barrage attack. If you have a high magic and range, just use those two skills.

Protect from magic is ideal, as she has powerful magic spells. Her spider minions often disappear, and lack the ability to deal much melee damage.

Icy Bones

This dungeoneering boss monster is one of the easiest to beat. He is most notable for the ice spikes he summons from the ground.

Those meleeing him should have no problem. He uses a freeze attack which affects only those who are ranging/maging him anyways. A player can run once they see an ice spike appearing below their feet to avoid the attack.

It is suggested that a player uses protect from melee, as his main method of attacking is melee. It is suggested you melee him because rangers and magers are more likely to be hit by his ice spikes he summons out of the ground.

Information on the rest coming soon...

Floor 3 Boss

Luminescent Icefiend

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for its ability to do a very poewrful attack that rains ice from the sky and consistently deals heavy damage to the player.

Once it freezes itself up to start this attack, you MUST start running around and you MUST keep running around until the raining ice has stopped falling. This will prevent you from being hit from the raining ice and having your life points lowered to near-death levels.

The special attack doesn't kill you, but always takes you to low hp. For this reason, it is even recommended that you keep your life points low when fighting this boss monster.

Floor 6 Boss

Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable of its ability to knock players around in a slippery ice floor room.

He has a very high range and magic defense. As a result, it's best to melee him if you have the skills to do so. An excellent strategy is to stand against a wall so that you can't be knocked back by him. You can range or mage him to lure you closer to him.

Once he is close enough, begin to melee him. When he moves far away, start mounting a range or mage attack again. Repeat this method until he is defeated. Generally melee hits him better but be prepared to chase it around a lot.

Don't worry it has a low max hit and no high hitting special attack. It is suggested that you use protect from range, as its range attack tends to be stronger than its mage attack.

Floor 9 Boss

To'Kash the Bloodchiller

This dungeoneering monster is most notable for his special attack known as “Deep Freeze”. This move freezes you solid, similar to ice barrage

His attack styles are magic and melee. His attacks ignore protection prayers. If you have a decent range level it’s a good idea to range him wearing hard leather because of its good magic defence. Another great way is to use mage amour and use the best fire spell you can.

If you chose to melee To’kask use a weapon that has a high crush bonus, because he is weak against crush. also activate the prayer pity. Use the best armor you can. If he says “Deep Freeze” eat some food this will prevent you from getting frozen. Soon enough To’kash the BloodChiller will be dead!

Floor 12 Bosses

Skeletal Horde

This dungeoneering boss monster is notable for skeletons coming out of tunnels.

This boss is actually a bunch of skeletons coming out of tunnels. As there is this NPC called the Divine Skinweaver, she heals you when you are close to her and tells you to block tunnels. The most effective way to kill here is to range or magic the skeletons. When you are ranging the skeletons stand near the Divine Skinweaver because she can heal you while you fight. Make sure auto-relate is off if you wish to stay near her. Every 3 skeletons you kill some more come out of tunnels, occasionally she will tell you to block a specific tunnel make sure you do so you don’t get more skeletons.

Be sure to use the protection prayer that the skeletons attack mostly with. If you choose to melee the skeletons not the best idea, they can hit 90-256 hp. But if you are going any way use a weapon with a high crush bonus like a maul. Still try to battle skeletons close to her though. Following these strategies will help you destroy the skeletal horde quickly!

Hobgoblin Geomancer

This dungeoneering monster is most notable for teleporting around the room during fights.

This monster is weak to range and stab, he attacks with magic and melee. The Hobgoblin geomancer has 1 main special ability. He can teleport around the room. when your ranging him he teleports next to you, when your meleeing him he teleports away from you. So it’s a good idea to melee him with a dagger, use the daggers stab attack because he is weak to stab attacks and daggers have a high stab bonus. when he teleports next to you and range him with the best range weapon you can get. We recommend to just wear range armor because of its high defense for magic and melee.

Two of his other ability is he can stun you with one of his magic attacks for 15 seconds. He also has a praying draining attach, he takes some of your prayer points and gains a little health. Just because he drains prayer don’t be discouraged to still use prayers. Bearing this all in mind will help you win the battle quickly and reduce the amount of food needed.

Bulwark beast

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for its armor plating witch nullifies any damage received from melee or ranged.

Once you encounter this beast he will have this armour plating, its kind of like an outer shell.the ONLY way to destroy his armour is with a pickaxe. The stronger pickaxe the better, but if you didn’t bring one in the boss room you can find one in a rock in the corner of the room. When attacking with the pickaxe use the crush attack because he is weak against crush and pickaxes work best with crush attacks. Now when you break his outer shell take out a better weapon like a maul.

We recommend meleeing the bulwark beast with good melee armour and the prayer protect from magic on. He attacks from all sides of the combat triangle. The melee armour gives good protection from ranged and melee while protect from magic protects you from magic. Make sure you bring tons of food. If you use those straggles the fight will be over soon enough!

Floor 15 Boss

Unholy Cursebearer

Thus dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for undead rot that starts affecting the player when fighting him. It drains all the combat skills excluding prayer.

This boss is usually easy to defeat. While fighting the Unholy Cursebearer an undead rot will start decreasing all your combat skills little by little, except prayer. Also curse prayers can be turned off by this boss. He is weak against melee and ranged so attack. So attack with one off theses combat styles

There are 2 unholy fonts on the wall witch recovers your stats, but the Holy Cursebearer gains 1/8 of his health. Make sure you are using prayer the whole time. Once again this boss is very easy so you wont have to much trouble beating him.

Floor 18 Bosses

Rammernaut

This dungeering boss is most notable for his special attak called charge, he will yell “CHAAAAAARG!” then he starts running in to you dealing massive damage.

The best way to defeat him is to get him aginst the wall and to start attaking at close distances, this way he is unable to attak. Once you trapped him use a wepon with a high stab bouns like a dagger. Because he is weak aginst stab and magic. Rammernaut is also immune to binding spells.

Make sure you have the prayer protect from melee on the whole time, since this boss only attaks with melee. If you play this boss smart, then not much food will be needed. But still make sure you bring food you never know!

Stomp

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for its 3 stages.

The first part of his health is easy, try to range or mage him, using protect from range, or just melee or range armour. Rangeing him will keep the damage minimum. Once you take 1/3 of his health he will become invinceable for a short time while debris starts falling from the ceiling. Players must avoid the falling debris. Find 2 crystels and put them on the loadstones next to the Stomp, if done correctly he will take some damage and continue the fight, if the crystals aren’t placed in the loadstones Stomp will regain 1/3 of his health.

The second part involves magic so switch to protect from magic. Once you take another 1/3 of his health repeat the crystles and loadstones. Be VERY carefull not to get hit by the falling debris, as they deal damageup to 250hp! The third part bypasses protection prayers, so change to attaking prayers and hurry of to slay this great Behemoth! Remember: Very good food is a MUST, because youll be taking lots of damage!

Har'Lak the Riftsplitter

This dungeonerring boss monster is most notable for 3 portals he can summon. Red portal-deals direct damage contiunesly, purple portal-poisons, and black portal-keeps lowering combat stats.

This boss main attack targets one player and drains prayer rapidly, but his special attack is that he can summon portals. To avoid him from summing these deadly portals much do not range or mage him from a far distance, if you do all he will do is summon portals. When he yells “A flame portal will flush you out!” that mean he’s summing a red portal witch deals direct damage continuously, when he yells “Taste miasma!” he’s summoning a purple witch deals poison over and over again, when he summons a black portal he yells “This will flush you down to size!” the black portal drains all your combat stats rapidly until they are all level 1. If you do get poisoned use the cure me spell to stop the poison

To avoid these portals when ever he says the key word start running around, if you do get caught in the portal try clicking rapidly away from the portal. If you don’t escape you got to slay him quickly. A good way to defeat him is to activate protect from magic, the demon will use its falling rocks attack, but it’ll drain your prayer slowly. Then start stabbing him with a melee weapon is proven the most effective. Remember you will need a lot of food, this boss is very instance!

Floor 20 Boss

Lexicus Runewright

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for his special attack called book barrage, witch sends 2 or more glowing books at the player, they will explode dealing 600 damage. It’s advised to run away from the books.

Lexicus Runewright is one of the hardest bosses in daemonheim. He deflects 1/3 of all melee damage you deal, so it’s advised to range or mage him. Wearing good range armor with good food is a must in defeating this boss. Do not melee him because he sends the damage back to you, he also has a high melee defense. He mainly attaks with magic, but sometimes with melee.

You really want to watch out for his special attack book barrage, make sure you are running around the room if it happens. He will also teleport around the room. Whenever he does these levels 20-65 books with 10 hp are summoned, they attack fairly high so it’s best to kill them right away. It’s also advised to use protect from magic and melee during the battle.

Floor 23 Boss

Sagittare

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for his special attak called arrow-rain he does this move when ever he teleports.

Sagittare usually ranges, but sometimes mages. He always has protect from range on, and maging isn’t effective against rangers. So your best bet is to melee Sagittare with some good melee armor. He has 3 main attacks regular arrow attack, magic multi arrows-targets all players, and arrow rain-arrows fall from the sky when ever he teleports and damages anyone within 2 squares of where he teleported

Sagittare teleports whenever you take 1/6 of his health. First he teleports to the second ring, then he teleports to the middle area, and back to the outside ring. That is the order he will teleport in. make sure you have protect from magic on so you don’t get frozen by one, and when he ranges use protect from range. Make sure you back off when he yells “Back off!” so you don’t get hit by arrow-rain. Make sure you bring decent food, his attacks are very strong!

Floor 26 Boss

Night-gazer Khighorahk

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for his max hit of 740 hp.

Night-gazer Khighorahk is a powerful magic-based dungeoneering boss. The Night-gazer can do powerful attacks that do over 700 damage, so great food in needed. His attacks are dodge able and they do sometimes hit through prayer. To damage him you need to light pillars around the room, you don’t need a tinder box to light the pillars. You also don’t need to light all the pillars to attack him but the more pillars you light the more damage you can enflict. The pillars might go out so just light them again.

Melee strategy-Khighorahk will stand in the middle of the room, activate protect from magic and run around lighting pillars and attacking him. When he creates a blue or purple bubble around himself you have 2-3 seconds to get away from him, before he slams himself on the ground. You will still take the damage but farther away the less damage you take. Now just repeat this strategy although the pillars won’t need to be lit again unless they went out.
Range strategy-He’s in the middle of the room while you are running around the room lighting pillars and attacking him with protect from melee on. Once again get away from his bubble and repeat (same with magic but your attaking with magic spells).

Floor 30 Boss

Shadow-forger Ihlakhizan

This dungeoneering boss monster is most noteable for dealing up to 850+ damage.

Ihlakhizan is scene suspended over a ditch hanging by 4 tentacles wrapped around the pillars of the hole. The Shadow – forger’s most common attacks are melee and acid rain. When he swings his body around, it is performing its melee attack, having protect from melee is useless. The other common attack is acid rain, the hole on top of Ihlakhizan head shoots out acid around the room. It will only damage you if it lands on you. About every 30 seconds in the chat box “the shadow-forger starts to glow”. This is a special attack of his, the player must hide behind a pillar before the boss sends out this “magic force” which will drain your stat rapidly. If you also get caught in this magic force you could take over 850 damage.

Shadow-forger Ihlakhizan has a relatively low defense so using the best attack prayer and melee potions will be very helpful. Stab and slash weapons are the best way to take him down. Bring the best food you can this boss hits very high a lot!

Floor 33 Boss

Bal'lak the Pummeller

This dungeoneering boss monster is most notable for his defense bar which you have lure him in to an acid pool to lower it and be able to attack.

Bal’lak will use melee and magic doing near 200 damage. When you enter the room he will have a defense bar near the top part of the screen. This is his defense power, every second it will keep going up until you are unable to damage him. As you are attack him he will cause bubbling pools of noxious fumes. Lure Bal’lak near one of these pools to weaken his defense, it will weaken his defense by 30% of the bar. Then he will start making more bubbling pools, now keep lurking him into pools. If you get in or stand 1 block away from the pool and will damage you which will compound so be very careful not to get in one of these pools! Keep luring him into these pools until his defense is very low or nothing.

Once his defense bar is at 0% you have to be very quick to slay Bal’lak. Have the best food because he inflicts relatively high damage, use a good stab weapon to kill him, and use the best attak prayer you can for he blocks other types of prayers. With 2 people the battle will only last 2 minutes. Remember he is extremely strong so he can hit VERY high damage.
