Wealth -> Power -> Respect

Managing Your Kingdom

A great way to boost your daily earnings on Runescape is to own a kingdom. You can have your own kingdom on the island of Miscellania after completing the Throne of Miscellnia quest. This Runescape Kingdom minigame is so awesome that almost all of Runescape's wealthy elite manage their kingdom daily - and with good reason! With just a few minutes of kingdom managing each day, you could be raking in 230,000 GP daily! That's an extra 1.6M into your pockets each week with very little work!

Here's how it works: You are the king (or queen) of the island. You can hire workers to gather resources (such as flax, coal, wood, herbs, etc). We will get into Kingdom Management 101 later.

We will start off by answering the question that most players who are familiar with the mini-game need to know: What resource is the most valuable?

The Most Profitable Work-Force

Below is a table illustrating the profit each worker can obtain from each of the 10 resources. You can have 10 workers once you complete the Throne of Miscellania quest, and an additional 5 workers once you complete the Royal Trouble quest.

Assuming you put 10 workers in the most profitable resource, and the other 5 in the second most profitable resource, you can make a maximum profit of approximately 230K each day! That translates into 1.6M a week - all with very little work on your part.

Kingdom Management 101 - The Basics of Kingdom Management

  1. Complete the Royal Trouble quest to get access to 15 workers.
  2. Keep your favor level up - the amount of resources your workers gather is based on the money you put in the coffers and your favor level.
  3. You lose 1% favor each day. It's not advised that you go to your kingdom every day to increase your favor. Rather, go every 10 days, and chop wood. This keeps your average favor at 95%.
  4. Gather resources every 50-60 days. If you have the money, don't collect resources until you really have to. Wait 50-60 days before you collect any resources. If you collect your resources infrequently, you have a better chance of getting rare items (gems, herb seeds, nests). This is because rare come in fractional amounts per day. If you collect daily, or weekly, you may be throwing out fractions of the rare items from accumulating. But again, you still make a profit whether or not you get rare items. If it's an option for you, definitely collect every 60 days as opposed to every day/week.
  5. Keep the maximum amount in the coffers to pay your workers. They can take out 75,000 GP a day as maximum. They will take out 10% of whatever is in the coffer each day. For this reason, it's best to ensure that your workers are able to take out 75,000 GP each day. With that being said, you should keep at least 1.5M in your coffers if you plan on coming every 10 days. Don't worry, you can always take the money out if you need it.
With this knowledge, you will be able to successfully manage your own kingdom on the island of Miscellania. Hopefully with the knowledge you have gather from this guide, you will be on your way to making 1.6M each week with very little effort.

Thanks Shad for the great guide!
I'd just like to point out that you can gain favour by mining coal instead of chopping maple trees because for every coal you mine, you get 1 favour point and for every 3 maple logs, you get 1 favour point which concludes that mining is quicker (depending on your Mining level).

My favorite guide on the site. Lots of money for doing very little work.

Great Guide but just double checking that the 1.6m profit a week is including the 1.5m investment in your island

MAPLES are not a 10k profit per worker! The main source of profit from maples are the birds' nests. This is since there are seeds inside. I've gotten magic seeds (250k) plenty of times from them! Therefore, currently, it's best to put 10 workers for herbs, and 5 workers for maples.
