Runecrafting can be a tedious and boring skill, but in the end, the time and hard work is paid off. Runecrafting can be one of the best ways to make money. 91 runecraft can get you over 500k an hour. But even at 44 runecraft you can make large amounts around 300k an hour. This guide will show you from step 1 to step 99 and make huge amounts of money!
The Basics of Runecrafting
In order to craft runes, you must finish the “rune mysteries quest”
Once you have finished the quest you can mine Rune essence (f2p) or pure essence (p2p with 30 mining)
Rune Essence
Rune essence or pure essence is was runes are made of.
There are 5 places for you to mine rune and pure essence.
Aubrey – Located in Varrocks magic shop (One of the best places to mine essence)
Wizard Sedridor - Located in the Basement of the Wizard Tower.
Wizard Distentor - Located in the Yanille Magic Guild.
Wizard Cromperty - Located northeast of the Ardougne Market.
Brimstail Gnome - Found in the cave in the southwest corner of the Tree Gnome Stronghold.
Runecraft Gloves
After the new update of the Fist of Guthix, the minigame helped in many ways. One of them was the creation of Runecrafting gloves
There are 3 kinds, Air Runecrafting, Earth Runecrafting, and Water Runecrafting
When you have a Runecraft glove wielded, it doubles the exp you get from crafting a rune. It disintegrates after 1000 rune essence
Talismans
There are many talismans which you “use” it on the “mysterious ruins” to get into the actual Altar to craft your runes.
Air, Mind, Water, Earth, Fire, Body, Cosmic, Chaos, Nature, Law, Death, Blood and Elemental
Usually, talisman aren’t the best things to craft runes, the best items to use is tiaras. There basically the same thing except you can wear it on your head, and you don’t have to go through the complicated process of using it on the mysterious ruins. To make a tiara, just use the talisman on a tiara. Simple as that.
Altar Location:
Air – South of Falador
Fire – North of the entrance of the duel arena
Mind – North of Falador and east of Goblin Village
Earth – Northeast of Varrock under Lumberyard
Water – Southeast corner of Lumbridge Swamp
Body – Southwest of edgeville
Cosmic – Located in Zanaris (lost city)
Chaos – Northwest of edgeville
Astral – Found on Moonclan Island
Nature – North of Shilo village
Law – Northwest corner of Entrana
Death – Located in Temple of light
Blood – Located in the dungeon beneath meiyerditch
Road to 99 Runecrafting
The best outfit for Runecrafting is dragonhide for dangerous places and nothing at all with spotted capes and boots of lightness for safe areas.
1 - 44 Runecraft will take approximately 2-3 hours if you’re very persistent
1 - 14 – Air runes
Craft Air runes from level 1-14. I would suggest using Air Runecrafting gloves as this will speed up the time. Bank at Falador and walk south until you reach the alter. Repeat if necessary.
14 - 44 – Fire Runes
Go to Grand Exchange and buy about 70 Ring of Duelings and exactly 7528 RUNE essence. Wear a fire tiara, and teleport to duel arena, with a full inventory of rune essence, walk a bit north and craft your fire runes. Then teleport to castle wars, and repeat.
*Tips, wear a games necklace to teleport to bounty hunter incase your ring of dueling disintegrates*
44 – 55 Nature Runes
Craft natures using the Abyss (Can be accessed after the Zamoraks Mage Miniquest) Use the best Runecrafting pouch you can (obtained from the Miniquest and killing the monsters in the Abyss)
Buy around 5 glories and teleport to edgeville, and walk to the zamorak mage in level 13 wilderness. Go inside and go to the door with a pickaxe in your inventory and mine your way into the inner ring to get to the nature door. Once you have crafted your runes, Use glory amulet and teleport back to edgeville
**it is advised that you have Heros quest done, so you may recharge your amulets)
55 – 91 Law runes, Air runes.
You can craft any of the runes. I would suggest using the Abyss method to craft the law runes for money. And Air runes for pure exp. Craft them all the way up to 91.
To craft air runes, use the air running method. This will provide fast exp. Go to world 16 and stand inside the altar. Spam your name and your rc level (careful about reporters), and they will come and ask for assist. Accept assist and click on runecraft. They will be able to craft air runes, but the exp will go to you. Be careful just to give assistance in runecrafting, some people are smarties and start alching stuff and you waste a ton of your daily assistance xp.
91 – 99 Natures and Air runes
You're in the big boys league now! 91 runecrafting is one of the most profitable skills in the entire game. Being able to craft 2 nature runes with 1 pure essence is phenomenal! Just imagine the profits! Use the same method to craft natures or your favorite way.
You can also craft air runes, if you want 99 fast. Your exp will be fast, because you can craft up to as many 9 runes for every essence. I would suggest air running in world 16.

Quite good. Although you could include pictures and penance gloves also reduce weight.
you only get expirience for the essence not the runes crafted so if you can get 9 air runes out of 1 essence you still get the same amount of expirience as someone else with level 1 runecrafting.
Actually, you can make up to 1M an hour running Nats at lvl 91 with a spirit graahk familiar. He can tele you just outside the nat altar, you enter, craft, tele to duel arena, and repeat. Quick and easy. It isn't as fast as ZMI crafting but its decent experience. About 25-30K experience an hour running Nats that way. Through the Abyss is about 5K less experience and about 200K less cash.
True about ZMI crafting but you also need to think that it doesn't give a ton of good runes until lev 59, so until then nats are best. When I was f2p i had to craft body runes... so noobish...
glory amulets are like 75k so u dont really make money with lvl44
