Introduction
Fist of Guthix is a minigame where you play a game of hunter versus hunted, one player hunting the other. The aim is to gather charges from the centre of the arena, but be careful, there will be a player out there to kill you – this is a safe minigame, though.
After each game, you will receive a number of tokens which you can trade for extremely valuable items, such as the rune berserker shields, green d’hide coifs, and druid robes, but members can get the even more valuable Battle Robes, or you can trade them for skill enhancing items, such as runecrafting or fishing gloves.
This is a popular game for mage pures because of the free runes you use while in the game, so be prepared with your ranger gear, as rangers beat mages on the combat triangle.
Requirements
None!
There are no requirements, but a tactical mind is extremely useful, and being able to wear the equipment explained in the next section. Also these skills will dramatically help you win:
• 43 prayer – for the protect from melee prayer
• 40 range – for green d’hide gear
• 40 defence – for rune and green d’hide body
• At least 60 in your chosen attacking skill – to hit high enough to kill quickly.
I suggest that you use the range / rune 2h combo to kill, but you will need 70+ range AND 70+ strength, plus the ability to wield the rune 2h.
Equipment
This varies from character to character, but this work best for me as a f2p main.
Head – rune full helm
Body – Green d’hide body
Legs – Green d’hide chaps, or rune legs (green d’hide chaps suggested)
Boots – Leather, or any other
Gloves – Green d’hide vambs, or rune Gauntlets (again green d’hide works best)
Necklace – amulet of power, or if you wish to mage – amulet of magic
Cape – normal or wilderness
Ring – explorers ring
So that it looks like this...

And you should have the best weapon appropriate to your style of fighting.
Getting Started
To get to the fist of Guthix mini game, just follow the line from Varrock centre
Once your there, go to the other end of the cave and speak to the giant bug
Who explains how to play to you.
You can also speak to her afterwards on tips on how to play.
Starting the Game
When you’re in the waiting room, take a good look at the other people – one will become your opponent, so check to see if they are a mage, ranger, tank, and remember their name.
As the Hunted
Pick up the stone from the dispenser nearest to you, and RUN around the outside until you’re at the other side of the arena. This is where you’re opponent started so he won’t think that your there. Wait there until your opponent finds you. When he does, use your teleport orb to get to the centre. Now you have 2 choices, if you have a high defence, you could stay in the centre and wait until either you are killed or have mixed charges, or you can run to the opposite side and start again, only this time without the teleport orb.
Try to use the safe houses to your benefit - but be warned – YOU WILL BE DAMAGED PERIOTICALY WHILE IN THE HOUSES – so use your bandages if you need to, and turn off your prayer. Once your opponent has left (remember, they can no longer see you) go start back out and go to the outside. Wait there for a short amount of time, and then walk back to the centre. 75% of the time, your opponent will not suspect that you are at the centre, as they are walking around the outside. Wait there until a RED arrow appears on your mini map. When this happens, RUN the other way, then walk around the outside until you either die of being constantly damaged, the time runs out, or you max out you charges.
As the Hunter
One thing first ... DO NOT USE YOURR TELEPORT ORB AS THE HUNTER! SAVE IT UNTILL YOU ARE THE HUNTED!
RUN straight through the centre to the other side where your opponent started, and then back to the centre. If the person isn’t there, walk (conserve your energy) around the outside of the portal rooms until either the person is found outside or goes to the centre because of the prospect of charges. Once found, click attack and do NOT do anything else until you can be sure that you are following your opponent.
Prevent your target from using the safe houses, this will allow your target to throw you off their trail, as you will stop following them. Fortunately, though, being in the safe houses lowers your targets health – new players often forget this, so they might die without you having to touch them. Also prevent your opponent from staying in the centre. This will allow them to gather large amounts of charges. Don’t stay in the centre though, it is possible to max your charges without being seen from a hunter in the centre.
Afterwards
You will receive a message that will look like this....
Or this....
And will receive the number of tokens mentioned in the message .
Rewards
To spend the token earned in the game, right click on *Reggie*
Who will bring up a menu of items to buy with your tokens, and how many tokens it cost to recharge them.
What to buy!
I suggest that, as a free player, you buy:
Rune Berserker Shields! Each Token you get then becomes worth
Cost of item ÷ Tokens = GP per token
Berserker Shield - 40k ÷ tokens – 300 = 133.3333
Each token you get is worth 133.333 gp each! Each game you play, if you win, you may get between 10 – 20 tokens. Each game you play would then be worth between 1.3k and 2.6k! If you play well, you can play anywhere between 15 and 30 games per hour, so if you multiply each value, you can make anywhere between 20k and 80k an hour!
