Making Soft Clay

Background

You wouldn't think something so straight-forward and simple could generate such profits, but it can! This method is called Converting Clay. You simply take clay, and convert it into soft clay.

Soft clay is in good demand because members use soft clay in order to make teleportation tablets. These are in wide use because they save space from having to carrying several different types of runes for teleporation, and saves people the time from having to locate the teleporation spell from their spellbook.

However, making soft clay takes time. That's why a lot of people buy it from the Grand Exchange. So if you can make these soft clays, then you can make some money.

Method

Making soft clays is a simple process. But first you want to make sure you have some clay. Purchase about 1000-2000 clays from the Grand Exchange.

Once you've purchased it, position yourself at any of the four bank stalls at the Grand Exchange. Withdraw 28 clay and run to the fountain located at the middle of the Grand Exchange.

At the fountain, you can use one soft clay with the fountain. You can even click on one soft clay, and click on the fountain while you're standing at the bank stall. This will save you one click and some time.

You will have the following display appear. Choose to make "All" soft clay. This will turn all the clay in your inventory into soft clay.

This process occurs automatically, and you will see the clays in your inventory turning into soft clays, one at a time.

After a few seconds, all of your clays will become soft clays.

Now click on the banker again, and store your soft clays. Then withdraw another 28 clay and start the process over again. This may seem tedious, but it sure makes money. So let's take a look at the hourly profits.

Profits

Converting one inventory of clay into soft clay takes 1 minute. That means you can convert 28 clay into soft clay in 1 minute. So in an hour, you can convert (28 x 60) 1680 Clay into Soft Clay.

So if you can make 1680 Soft Clay per hour, let's see how much profit you get per hour with the current Grand Exchange prices of Clay and Soft Clay.

Not bad for an F2P money-making method. Have fun with the conversion!

Hate to say this, but Jagex removed Gnomecopters! You can still buy jugs of water from the same place, but there's no bank.

in shantys pass im pretty sure shanty sells jugs of water so buy them and u r almost directly next to the bank chest

Yay, nerds are cool said...

Shantay's shop is only available for members..I think the only way now is to either get jugs of water from G.E. or use buckets of water instead T.T

they got rid of the gnome copter deposit bank and replaced it with some guy named barfy bill, alternatively you can buy 100 jugs from the g.e. and 100 clay too, its only 3k - 5k extra, and fill ur jugs up 14 at a time and then proceed

I checked for 1k of jugs of water cost 22k (to much for me). Thought i found a new way. Go to Falador and buy 28 empty jugs in the grocery. You can fill it with the Waterpump who is next to the barber.
1.Deposit 14 jugs and withdraw 14 clay.
2.Repeat 1
3.Get all your empty jugs and refill your 28 jugs.
repeat 1.
And voila. Hope I helped

I Fill The Buckets In Falador cuz the water pump and the bank is really close its pretty easy for me i alerdy made 700k

I'm pretty sure edgeville bank is fastest. You don't really need 100 buckets btw. 14 is fast enough imo.

The closest water source near a bank in free-to-play is the west Falador bank, with a pump right north, near the barber.

Not sure about pay-to-play though...

bets p2p place is obviously downstairs from chefs kitchen on the recipe for disaster quest :) happy to help

This method does not work much anymore. 1.5k clay gets you 100k+ and it takes 3 hours to make 1.5k into 1.5k soft clay.

hey u can just get 14 bukets and howevr many clay and fill the 14 bukets up at edgeville and go back and forthe from the well is really easy

now this method is even better since u don't need jugs or buckets, only a water source!

You did a great job on the content and mathematics. You truly are a skilled writer, and your math is excellent. I thank you for this effective and helpful guide. Even though I have been playing RuneScape for years, I must admit that I did learn something.
